MusiCare’s Responsibility Based Maintenance Plan:
- In order to offer instruments to students and have the instruments facilitate the educational experience the school’s Musical Instrument Inventory must be in good repair. This provides a base to refer to in the case accidental damage or vandalism occurs.
- Prepare a document such as a “Receipt and Bond” (Click her to download PDF) to allow students to be bonded return instruments in the same physical condition as check out, with exception of “Fair Wear and Tear” covered by a maintenance fee.
- Check-in and evaluate all instruments at the end of each season, to allow students to take responsibility for any damage beyond “Fair Wear and Tear” that they may have caused.
- Maintain and return all Instruments to good repair, so that they are ready for the next season.
